11” PJ & Penny, 1987, this set is one of Dianna’s
very first original works! From the Wildflowers Collection, they are
#38 in a limited edition of only 50 sets, adorable old fashioned school
children, Penny brings along her school book and flowers for the
teacher, PJ is playing hooky and going fishing! Porcelain heads with
swivel necks, shoulder plates and lower arms and legs, cloth torsos with
wire armatures, incredibly detailed features meticulously hand painted
by Dianna herself, lovely quality wigs, nicely made outfits, Penny has
fabulous handmade leather boots, PJ has suede linings on the bottom of
his feet for added protection, PJs wonderful fishing pole was made by
Mike Johnson, a talented local artist. It includes a tiny handmade
wooden bobber and a real miniature fishing hook! The original fishing
pole was lost in a move, years ago. The dolls each have a hole in one
foot, so they can fit over metal pegs on their wooden display board.
They can be positioned in a variety of ways, and are also removable.
Display board has a tiny nick on the front edge, and scuffs under PJs
feet. Dolls are otherwise in mint condition, and complete with
certificates. Taken from my personal collection; they have always been
displayed in a glass case, in my smoke free home.
